剧情：
朝鲜战争期间，少年尹德秀随同父母登上美军的救援船，却遭遇了毕生难忘的生离死别。战火虽然停息，南北半岛则一分为二，饱受炮火荼毒的北方故乡遥不可及。长大之后，代替父亲成为顶梁柱的德秀（黄政民暂无内容饰）努力赚钱，为了筹备弟弟妹妹的学费，他和童年好友千达九（吴达洙暂无内容饰）前往西德当起了矿工。万里家国，乡愁如缕，孤独的德秀偶然邂逅在德国念护士专业的韩国女孩英子（金允珍暂无内容饰），从此黑若煤炭的生活照进了灿烂光芒。快乐的时光与死亡的磨难如影随形，好在在经历了生死考验之后，德秀回到朝思暮想的家中，并赢得了英子的芳心。
